Guiding Star is a competition for all members of Girlguiding UK between the ages of 10 and 25. The prize is to perform at the Big Gig in 2007 with all the support that is required to achieve this performance – coaching, presentation and appearance. It is a singing competition for either a group of up to 5 girls or an individual. There are two age groups, 10 to 16 or 16 to 25 (a 16 year old may choose which age group she wishes to compete in). To enter girls are required to complete an entry form and pay a £5 registration fee per person. The completed entry forms and registration fees should be sent to: Cheques made payable to The Guide Association – Anglia Region. Each County is asked to select a winning act for both age groups – who will compete in the Region final which takes place on Thursday 31st May 2007 (venue tbc). To support the participants, Anglia Region will be providing workshops to help the County winners with the skills required to perform at this prestigious event. The Region final will take the form of a show when all supporters of the finalist will be encouraged to attend (tickets will be sold for this event). Each Guide Guider and Senior Section Guider will receive a copy of the Guiding Star booklets with all details in her October Guiding magazine. Please encourage units to participate.
